Needless to say, the busiest time for the restaurant is at sunset, so don’t forget to make reservations. The house band will accompany the close of day, while you enjoy the cooling sea breeze.
With the crystal blue Andaman Sea before you, it’s only fitting to have a seafood feast. The grilled seafood platter comes with grilled white fish, squid, mussels and their signature Andaman Lobster. It can get pretty crowded in the evenings, so go early if you will want a seat. The bar has a live band that plays every night and despite the name of the bar, they do not limit themselves to rock and reggae music. Feel free to make song requests.
The highlight of Roots is their nightly Thai fire dance performance. This livens up the atmosphere and gets everyone cheering. Take note that Roots doesn’t serve food but thankfully that’s made up for with a good variety of drinks at affordable prices.

Maharaj Market is the largest market in Krabi with a huge selection of fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, dried goods and a breakfast food area. Bananas, coconuts, chillies and turmeric are widely available here as they are consumed by the locals in almost everything.
Getting there early in the day will ensure that you get to try some local breakfast dishes, but you’ll also be able to see the locals waking up early to do their grocery shopping. There are several stalls selling a variety of Thai kanom (desserts), curries, kanom jeen, fried chicken, pig organ soup and much more.
